Math Presentations and Videos


Scope

Purpose

By the end of this project, faculty will have access to quality presentations for use in the classroom and Adobe Connect for Mathematics 20-1, Mathematics 20-2 and Mathematics 20-3.  For each course, there will be two presentations, each aligned with a different unit.  Additionally, faculty will have access to quality instructional videos posted on the mybvcupgrading YouTube channel for Mathematics 20-1, Mathematics 20-2 and Mathematics 20-3.  These instructional videos will be created from the presentations previously developed. For each course, they will have two instructional videos, each aligned with a different unit. 

By the end of this project, students in traditional and real time online programs will view these presentations as part of their scheduled lessons.  Equally, students in all programs will have access to the parallel instructional videos.

Overview

Through the course of the project, faculty will work with PowerPoint, creating slides, selecting images, creating graphics, and using animation.  In addition, faculty will learn presentation skills, develop presentation design techniques, acquire further instructional design expertise, and gain understanding of effective instructional presentations. These learnings will apply to virtual presentations through Adobe Connect as well as presentations in general.

Through the course of the project, faculty will work with Camtasia Studio.  In addition, faculty will learn about the effective use of video and its differences from presentations.  They will develop video design techniques, acquire further instructional design expertise, and gain understanding of effective instructional videos.
