The Foundational Learning department offers a series of mathematics courses for students to upgrade. Academic Preparation courses give students the basic skills to do high school math. The College Prep course, available by referral from college admissions only, gives students the required background to succeed in the specified career program. The Math for GED course, equivalent to Prep Mathematics 10, prepares for students to write the math GED exam and allows them to continue with upgrading. The mathematics -1 courses give students the skills to continue with mathematics programs at post-secondary involving calculus. Mathematics 31 serves as an introductory calculus course. The mathematics -2 courses provide the background for further studies in post-secondary programs requiring applied or foundational mathematics. The -3 mathematics courses provide students access to apprenticeship and trades programs and provide math for use in the workplace.
